shutter speed is how long the cameras shutter is open to expose the light into the camera it is measured in fractions of a second. a slow shutter speed is good to use when it is dark out or when you want to take a photo with motion blur. a fast shutter speed is very useful to use when it is either bright out or if you want to capture a photo of someone moving with close up details. a good way to stop movement in your photos with slow shutter speed you can use a tripod. I feel as if i have a pretty solid understanding of shutter speed and could use this in future projects such as my final project.

Main Project

Motion Blur

Umbrella Spin

I did a good job using color in this photo by having the blue and purple part of the umbrella in the picture. I also did a good job with movement and rhythm by getting ben to move the umbrella at a perfect speed.

Lego Guy

I did good with the color in this picture by having the background blue and the fidget spinner blue.

I also did good by using movement and rhythm by spinning the fidget spinner.

Freeze Motion

Coleton missing pass

I did good at using negative space around Coleton. I also used emphasis because I am only focused on the one subject (Coleton)

Baketball mid air

In this photograph I used space, because there is negative space around the main subject (the basketball) and I used balanced because I took this photo at an angle where the basketball is frozen in the air.

Panning

The Blue Car

In this photograph I used lines because in the background the line of the wall leads veiwers through the frame. I also used emphasis because there is only thing to focus on and sticks out from the rest because of the colour.

luke on the zipline

In this photograph I used space because their is negative space around the main subject and I used movement because I took this photo where it shows the background blurry and shows him moving on the zipline.

Questions

  1. Panning is when you get a photo where the background is blurred and the subject is in focus.

  2. When you move at the same speed as the subject

  3. I used a somewhat slow shutter speed and focus on a fast subject.

  4. I need to be positive because it takes many tries to get the perfect one.
